Photography Education with the Girl Scouts

by Deb

We don’t just take great pics, we will also give back with photography education among other ways. We enjoy giving back to the community whenever possible. That can take many different forms- sometimes it is donating a gift certificate when asked, other times it is donating our time. This week we did some photography education by helping a girl scout troop achieve their photography badge. Our photography education is done though both book and hands on learning. We began by introducing ourselves and our experience. We set up a few different scenarios for them to photograph and let them loose!

So they needed to take a landscape photo- and it being night and indoors we decided to improvise. We set them loose on the studio and told them to create a scene for us. Can we please just take a moment to appreciate this beautiful set up these 3 young women pulled off in a matter of moments? We asked if they had earned a floral arrangement badge- apparently this just came naturally to them!

Here they are taking at least 5 different picture of their landscape!

We couldn’t resist the opportunity to take some pics with our real camera- the above pics are just phone pictures. Mostly so I could show them how we compose a picture! What fabulous subjects we had right?!

And don’t think the leaders got out without jumping in a few pictures too!

Interested in some photography education for your troop? Reach out, we would be happy to help!
