Girl Scout We of Wilbraham Book Launch
Oh What a night!
We had the honor of hosting the Girl Scout We of Wilbraham book launch on Wednesday night. This book was written and produced by two local girl scouts and their “Brownie Brother”, as they affectionately call him. They did all the interviews and photos. It was a wonderful snapshot of our little town and we were thrilled they asked us to hold the big event. Our own Danielle was in the book- she’s a star! It was so fun for us to welcome over 50 people from town over the threshold and into our space.

The Studio
We never considered ourselves as a venue space… um we still don’t so no big ideas out there! But it was fun to see it that way. Especially fun to show it off to so many people- many who have never had chance to see inside. We also really needed a good excuse to do a big cleaning- so it was a win win. The Girl Scout Crew did all the hard work- setting up the site, tables and chairs. Providing the yummy snacks and welcoming all the guests- we just embraced and welcomed everyone.

A few moments of appreciation for the Girl Scouts
No event like this would be complete without a few speeches. Jen Powell, the troup leader and mom, gave a beautiful speech honoring each of three that produced the book, Charlotte, Alison, and Will. She described their journeys with the troop from 1st grade until today and how proud she is of each of them and their accomplishments. They each took a moment at the microphone to give their own thanks to everyone that helped bring this project to life. I, Deb, have always been a big fan of the girl scouts and the good they do in the community and mostly for the girls themselves, helping them build confidence and self esteem.

Thank you!
A moment of thanks from us for asking us to play a small part in the event. I know you thought it might be an imposition but it ended up being a joy (and now we have a clean studio!) If you would like to support this project the books can be purchased here. There will also be a copy available for viewing at the Wilbraham Public Library that has been signed by many of the participants. We love our community and are always looking for ways to support it, we donate gift certificates and our time often- have a collaboration idea? please reach out to us!
